Marlowe, a charismatic little girl, had been to the beach before but never in the water. We weren't sure how she would react, but she loved it. It was ice cold too, the kind of cold that takes your breath away when it hits you. With a very serious look on her face she would simply take a deep breath, let is pass over her, then break into a huge smile and clap her hands for the next wave. Watching this, I thought to myself that this was how we should all live our lives. Face the things that make us uncomfortable and let them pass through us, for there is always a smile on the other side.
