I have a deeper understanding of what it means to bring a person into this world after having my son. All of the time, energy, nurturing and self-care it takes, and the amount of patience and flexibility you must have in every situation. So I was incredibly excited when Brittney reached out to me to capture this remarkable time for her and her husband. Connecting with clients is extremely important to me, but also being able to share an experience brings another level for the images we create. We chose Zuma beach for its ease to get to from the street, and for its openness. It's so large you can still feel alone, and it was perfect for them to simply enjoy each other.
My beautiful friend, Carolyn, is pregnant with her first child. I wanted to do something special, so I thought the best place to capture this time in their lives would be where she and her husband have built a life together, and with flowers. I'm always drawn to people's homes because you can learn so much about them just by looking at the way they decorate, what photographs they hang, or what colors they choose. It's also where people feel the most comfortable, and are the most themselves.
There were two giant buckets full of flowers on the floor when I arrived, and I asked her to choose the flowers she felt the most connection with. She pointed out the anemones and ranunculus. We had about an hour before sunset, so we moved throughout the house finding little pockets of light to use, and went outside to their gorgeous garden.
It was a lovely way to celebrate new life, adventures and beginnings, and I can't wait to see the magic of our children playing together.

I was incredibly humbled when Rachel and Andrew contacted me and expressed their appreciation for my work. It's one of the best feelings when a client is comfortable and trusts you. It opens up a level of artistry and freedom to make some magic happen. Not only that, but their mirthful love for each other and eloquent sense of humor was such a delight to be around, and really embraced the feeling for the day. Thank you so much Rachel and Andrew. I'm so grateful to have met you and witness your beautiful day!

I always want a location to deeply speak to a client. It generates an energy of connectedness, and vibrates towards the camera. Topanga Canyon was carefully chosen, and the session, feminine divine.
Laughter filled the air and echoed off the gorgeous 1920's built walls of Ebell Long Beach during this wedding. The energy of Ariel and Jeremy's light, love, history and new beginnings was electric. Everyone made each other laugh, and sometimes cry, all day, and I was definitely one of those people on the receiving end. You couldn't help it. I'm so incredibly happy for them and was honored to have witnessed their new journey together.
